Thomas Smith Fasteners in Blantyre, Glasgow was caught in the midst of the snow blizzard conditions that overwhelmed the mid-Scotland area on Monday 6th December.
We had to leave for home at midday on the Monday and were unable to return to work on the Tuesday. At least all of our staff were able to spend the night in their own beds, unlike hundreds of travellers in Scotland who had to spend the night in their cars or hotels.
We apologise to any of our customers who may have been inconvenienced but we now have the capability to divert calls to our homes and are able to login remotely to our computer system. Computer technology beats the elements!
